The History of St Paul’s National School

St Paul’s National School was originally called Mountmellick Parochial School and was built in 1866. This school was what is now the parish hall and the house next to it in the grounds of the church was the school house where the teacher/principal would have lived.

In 1976 the school relocated to the present site. The land on which the new school building was built was donated by the Pim family. It was at this stage that the school name was changed to St Paul’s National School.

The building was totally renovated in 2009.
